October 28, 2024 (Washington, DC) – The MARC Coalition today hosted a webinar about Section 111 Civil Money Penalties at 2:00pm ET. David Farber, Partner at King and Spalding, and Susan Lin, Divisional AVP – Corporate Claims, Medicare Strategy at Great American Insurance Group, were the presenters.
The hour-long webinar featured a presentation to discuss the various topics involved in Section 111 reporting penalty process, a subject that affects MARC members and a wide array of industries. The webinar reviewed the history of the penalty provisions, starting from the 2007 MMSEA strict liability penalty provision, through the 2013 SMART Act reforms to the penalty provision enacted by the MARC Coalition, and through the federal rulemaking process. More than 100 people attended the public webinar, including MARC members and others affected by the policies and regulations discussed during the presentation.
“This webinar provided us with great information from experts on a very complex topic that is of significant importance to all stakeholders in the Medicare Secondary Payer process. We appreciate MARC hosting this event, “ said Amber Worman, Manager, Medicare Optimization and Oversight at Walmart.
The Coalition intends to present other webinars on other topics of interest to the MSP stakeholder community in the coming months. We welcome stakeholders joining the MARC Coalition in the future on emerging issues affecting the MSP community.
